Sinkule Dormitory Hostel

Sinkule Dormitory is also a part of the CTU and University of Chemistry and Technology University Campus in Prague – Dejvice. It is located a few metres from Dejvice Dormitory. Construction of the campus began in the 1920s according to the plans of architect Antonín Engel. The economic crisis and the Second World War resulted in the plans being only partially completed. The final major buildings on the campus were built during the first and second decades of the current century.

In 2004, the dormitory underwent partial renovation, with conversions and modernisations still ongoing. Most recently, windows were replaced and the dormitory was insulated in 2020.

A hostel is run at the dormitory in the summer months:

  • two- to four-bed rooms,

Sinkule and Dejvice Dormitories both enjoy excellent transport links to the city centre, to the motorways and to Václav Havel airport. The airport is just a 20 minute journey away by car. Line A metro station Dejvická is roughly 2 minutes from the dormitory. Dejvická tram and bus stops are roughly 3 minutes away from the dormitory by foot.

There are many stores, cafés and restaurants within walking distance of the hostel. If you want to spend your leisure time in an active manner, you can take advantage of the large Stromovka park and the multi-purpose “Pod Juliskou” sports centre during your leisure time, or you can make use of the Petynka outdoor pool or nearby Divoká Šárka valley. Strahov and Petřín hill with its extensive gardens, viewing tower, maze and funicular railway, which can be used for faster access to the city centre, are a few stops away by Bus 143 or 149. If you’re a history fan, Prague Castle is also nearby, and is surrounded by many other historical buildings and gardens.

You can also dine in the surrounding canteens: theTechnical Canteen, Studentský dům or in the Masaryk Dormitory restaurant.

You can park at an extra fee within the enclosed Masaryk Dormitory site, within the National Library of Technology building, or in front of the hostel building.
