Podolí Dormitory

The Podolí Dormitory site is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood in Prague 4 next to modern buildings, and roughly 5 minutes by foot from Metro C station Pražského povstání. Podolí Dormitory’s urban design was the work of Ing. Arch. J Krásný, and it was constructed directly at the CTU’s Faculty of Architecture. It originally contained 1700 beds. The dormitory is located within a park site and comprises 6 separate accommodation buildings, an administrative building and gatehouse, and Podolí Canteen. The buildings have been undergoing modernisation since 1993 in order to improve accommodation comfort. Two of the six blocks have undergone general renovation, while the other blocks are undergoing progressive interior renovation.
It contains a total of over 1073 beds.

Podolí dormitory offers accommodation in different types of rooms:

• Block A, B – residential unit system with one- to three-bed rooms, sanitary facilities (toilet, shower) and kitchenette within each unit;
• Block C, F (fully renovated) – one- and two-bed rooms with a washbasin in rooms. Sanitary facilities (toilet, shower) and kitchenette on the corridor. There are two two-bed rooms with their own shower and toilet available in Block C for physically disabled students;
• Block D, E (partially renovated) – one- to three-bed rooms, shared kitchenettes and sanitary facilities on the corridors. 

The dormitories offer the possibility of using a laundry room and a dryer. To use your free time, the student club Pod-O-Lee (CTU Student Union club) offers many different activities, e.g. board games club, film club, etc. The club manages the connection to the academic Internet network (connections are in all rooms), along with the operation of interest rooms (music room, gym, sauna, etc.).

There are also two outdoor playgrounds with an artificial surface for various sports in the Podolí Dormitory area. Some of these services, including on-site parking, are subject to a fee. After a hard day, you can visit the Bar U dna (bar near the bottom) club. In the building of the former Podolí canteen, archery lessons are held at the Institute of Physical Education and Sports CTU.
